Majority of Americans Feeling Anxiety and Stress From Politics

Significant majority of Americans are feeling anxiety and stress tied to the current political situation.

In a poll by the American Psychiatric Association, nearly three-quarters (73%) of respondents reported feeling anxious about the election. Another poll by Myriad Genetics found that nearly 40% are feeling stressed and/or depressed about the election season, with a similar share claiming to be “checked out” due to the overwhelming amount of news and social media attention focused on politics and the upcoming election.
