Video Games Improve Mental Health, But How and What Matters

New research shows video games improve mental health, but how and even what console you play on matters!

This novel study looked at the overall mental health of folks who had access to video game systems verses those who didn’t during the pandemic.

The study found that playing up to three hours per day resulted in improved mental health. More than that showed diminished returns, though extended play never reached a point of mental or physical harm (unless playing was an avoidance behavior)

There were many variables that made a certain game best for you and it appears that even the console selected could lead to better outcomes. Spoiler: the Nintendo Switch came out on top as the most positive mental health platform.
