A convergence of video games and medical devices has started – where will this lead?
Very few video games have been cleared as medical devices by the FDA. Those that have require prescriptions and are priced much more like medical devices than games.
There are plenty of games and apps that make health related claims, but most of these have not been evaluated by the FDA.
But times are changing, and soon we will see the legitimate, FDA sanctioned blending of games into medicine.
The games will play as games, be available on your mobile device without a prescription, and be priced more like a video game than a doctor visit.
