It will not be one technology that changes how we address mental health, neurological disease and longevity. It will require the convergence of science, technology and story to create a new field of Immersive Medicine.
Next generation neurologic therapies will redefine what it means to be treated, blurring the lines between device, pharmaceutical and digital therapeutics.
New drugs will deliver medical devices (instead of the other way around), and media will guide healing, leaving us more biologically available for treatment and rapid recovery.
This is happening right now, in the companies, institutions and universities Samuel R. Browd, M.D., Ph.D. and I visited this week, led by an amazingly talented group of scientists, doctors, business and political leaders.
